Royal Pavilion, Brighton. John Nash's extraordinary oriental fantasy built for George IV. Its magnificent interior is a reflection of George's personality and Regency reign.
Sunday April 12th
Ickworth House, Bury St. Edmunds. The impressive Rotunda houses the priceless treasures collected by 4th Earl of Bristol on tours around Europe during the 18th century.
Sunday May 10th
Kenwood House, Hampstead. The House was remodelled and extended by Robert Adam for the 1st Earl of Mansfield from 1764 to 1779. It was acquired by the 1st Earl of Iveagh (Guinness) in 1922 who bequeathed it and his outstanding art collection to the nation in 1927.
Sunday June 28th
Bateman's, Burwash, E. Sussex. A Jacobean house that was the home of Rudyard Kipling and remains much as he left it with oriental rugs and artefacts.
Uppark House, Petersfield, W. Sussex. The Georgian interiors include French furniture and pottery and Italian paintings. The collection has a fine example of a 17th century dolls house.
Sunday July 19th
Ely Cathedral. The beginnings of the Cathedral date from the 11th century. In addition to the architecture and history of the Cathedral it houses a stained glass museum highlighting the history and techniques of 800 years of British stained glass.
